David H. Hicks - Vice President, Sarasota

SUMMARY OF EXPERIENCE

David has over 13 years of experience in the electrical construction industry. From 1997 to 2008, he served as vice president and then president of Aladdin Ward Electric/Integrated Electrical Services. During that time he was instrumental in growing the company into one of the larger electrical contracting companies in Southwest Florida. Under his leadership, the company successfully completed several premier projects in the Sarasota area to include: The Glenridge at Palmer Ranch ($4.5M); La BellaSara ($2.3M); and, SaraBay Club ($5.5M). Prior to that, Mr. Hicks spent over 30 years in the U.S. Army culminating in his retirement as a brigadier general. He held numerous key command and staff positions including: Brigade Commander, 4th Brigade, 3rd Armored Division; Executive Officer to the Chief of Staff for Personnel, Department of the Army; Command Director, North American Aero-Space Defense Command (NORAD); Assistant Division Commander, 25th Infantry Division; and, Chief of Staff, 1st Corps. Mr. Hicks has also been very active in the Sarasota and Manatee County communities. He has served on the Gulf Coast Builders Exchange’s Board of Directors and as an Officer. Mr. Hicks was also a founding board member of the Construction Technology Careers program, Sarasota and Manatee County School Boards’ high school pre-apprenticeship program. Additionally, he is a past President and Chairman of the Board for the Sertoma Club of Greater Sarasota. A native Floridian, Mr. Hicks earned a B.A. from the University of South Florida and a M.A. from Central Michigan University.
